Our Training Commitment

We have an active ongoing commitment to staff training and development in all aspects of roofing. During our yearly staff appraisals we offer our staff the opportunity to develop current skills and to learn new skills.

Not only is it important to maintain levels of workmanship by encouraging staff to improve their current skills but also to keep abreast of new developments in roofing products and methods where training is crucial to the effective use of new products.

We also pride ourselves in the aspects of training not affiliated to the above disciplines such as Health & Safety working at heights, Harness & Lanyard, First Aid, Scaffold Safety and Asbestos Awareness. We have a full training plan which includes our administration team and directors.

Daily and weekly tool box talks are another way in which we ensure standards are maintained.

Producing and training excellent tradesmen who are qualified to the highest levels that the UK can offer is another area in which Bain and Irvine excel. Whether it is a conical turret or a laced valley, we have the individuals who can produce a quality finish for our clients. It is indeed no surprise that Bain & Irvine continue to pick up Scottish & UK awards for the quality of their workmanship. Their work on turrets in North Berwick was shortlisted for a Heritage award at the 2014 National Awards in London.

It is our opinion that all of the above training and attention to detail is what sets our company at the head of the industry and should give Bain & Irvine the edge when potential clients are deciding on contractors at what is, and always has been, a particularly competitive industry.
