Slating and Tiling

Bain and Irvine are qualified to fit all types of slating and tiling. Two of our slaters are qualified to CSCS Gold Card standard which allows both employees to work on pre 1919 buildings within the heritage sector.

Heritage Roofing and Conservation

Heritage and Conservation Roofing was recently instigated in an effort to carry out the elements of Bain and Irvine workload which relates directly to specific private properties, which could be considered historically important from a structural or heritage perspective.

Graeme Millar (FIOR) is the driving force behind this diversification and as Managing Director of Bain and Irvine he considers Bain and Irvine's excellent reputation for high quality work will allow both organisations to complement each other.

The contracts which Heritage Roofing and Conservation enter into will, in the main, be with private individuals who own properties which are listed A,B or C or are situated within a conservation area.

Graeme Millar is a dedicated conservationist who sits on the Scottish Stone Liaison Group board (a Charity which is mainly subsidised by Historic Scotland) and he is currently Chairman of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (Scotland). Furthermore he sits on the National Federation of Roofing Contractors Heritage and Slating/tiling committees and is Junior Vice President on the Main NFRC Board in London.

Graeme's input and Martin Redington's (Foreman Slater) undoubted high quality workmanship will combine to create a heritage force, particularly in the roofing sector where they have a combined experience of over 50 years.
